Branding

The Brief

During our initial meeting we talked about the WHY behind Matrix Circus (community engagement, play, movement, creativity and introducing circus play to people who might not experience it otherwise). This enabled us to pin down what the branding should represent and plan out the strategy together.Next we put together a mood board for inspiration and to check in with the client on the brand direction. We agreed to produce a hand drawn yet legible word mark with subtle flourishes and a vintage / worn appearance.We produced 3 concepts within this theme, with the client choosing the entirely hand drawn word mark concept in a monochrome red colour palette.Starting with many hand drawn versions, we then took it over to Adobe Illustrator to digitally construct the logo out of geometric shapes, so each letter was pixel-perfect!
